November 29th – 30th | Wolfram Christ conducting Mahler at Teatro Filarmonico di Verona
For the final concert of 2024, the Arena di Verona Orchestra, under the baton of renowned conductor Wolfram Christ, will present an inspiring program featuring two masterpieces: Franz Schubert’s Unfinished Symphony and Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 4, famously known as “Vita Celestiale”. The performances will take place on November 29 and 30 at Teatro Filarmonico di Verona.
In this program, Schubert’s hauntingly beautiful Unfinished Symphony captures the Romantic spirit, while Mahler’s Symphony No. 4 offers a unique blend of Viennese classicism and introspective serenity. The celestial vision of paradise, as seen through the eyes of a child, will be brought to life by celebrated soprano Mojca Erdmann in the symphony's final movement. This concert also marks the debut of Maestro Christ with the Verona ensemble.
