Japanese conductor Junichi Hirokami joins Only Stage management’s roster!
Junichi Hirokami, born in Tokyo, won the first Kondrashin International Conducting Competition in Amsterdam in 1984.
He has conducted major orchestras worldwide, including the Orchestre National de France, Royal Concertgebouw, Israel Philharmonic, and London Symphony.
Hirokami has held key positions such as Chief Conductor of the Norrköping Symphony, Limburg Symphony, Japan Philharmonic, and Music Director of the Columbus Symphony. In opera, he has led notable performances at the Sydney Opera House and Tokyo’s New National Theatre. From 2008 to 2022, he was Chief Conductor and Artistic Advisor of the Kyoto Symphony Orchestra. He currently serves as Artistic Leader of Orchestra Ensemble Kanazawa and teaches at Tokyo College of Music.
