January 14th – 21st | Gagik Vardanyan in G. Verdi’s “La Traviata” at the Angers Nantes Opéra
Our artist Gagik Vardanyan will embody the role of Baron Douphol in G. Verdi’s timeless opera La Traviata, staged by Angers Nantes Opéra. This compelling production, directed by Silvia Paoli, offers a fresh perspective on Violetta's tragic tale, emphasizing her battle against a ruthless society that forces her to sacrifice herself. The emotional depth of Verdi’s score is matched by Paoli’s meticulous direction, which, in collaboration with a stellar creative team, amplifies the heroine's struggle and humanity. With captivating choreography by Emanuele Rosa, evocative sets by Lisetta Buccellato, and a dramatic lighting design by Fiammetta Baldisseri, the production promises to transport audiences into the heart of 19th-century Paris.
Accompanying the performers, the National Orchestra of the Pays de la Loire, conducted by Laurent Campbellone, and the Angers Nantes Opera Choir, directed by Xavier Ribes, will bring Verdi’s rich and emotional score to life.
