Gagik Vardanyan

March 16th – 18th | Gagik Vardanyan Baron Douphol in G. Verdi’s La Traviata in Angers

Following its successful run at Nantes Opéra in January and at Opéra de Rennes in February, the critically acclaimed production of Giuseppe Verdi’s La Traviata returns to the stage in Angers from March 16th to 18th. In this revival, Gagik Vardanyan will once again take on the role of Baron Douphol, bringing his artistry to Verdi’s timeless masterpiece.

Directed by Silvia Paoli, this production offers a bold reinterpretation of Violetta’s tragic fate, highlighting her struggle against a rigid and unforgiving society. With choreography by Emanuele Rosa, sets by Lisetta Buccellato, and lighting design by Fiammetta Baldisseri, the staging captures the emotional depth and visual splendor of 19th-century Paris.

The National Orchestra of the Pays de la Loire, under the baton of Laurent Campbellone, and the Angers Nantes Opera Choir, directed by Xavier Ribes, will bring Verdi’s lyrical intensity and dramatic power to life, ensuring an unforgettable musical and theatrical experience.
