Lü Jia

Conductor Lü Jia joins Only Stage management Roster

Born in Shanghai, Lü Jia began studying piano and cello early on. He trained in conducting at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing and the University of Arts in Berlin. At twenty-four, he won first prize at the Antonio Pedeotti International Conducting Competition in Italy, launching his career. In 2017, he became Artistic Director of Music for the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) and Music Director of the China NCPA Orchestra. He is also the Music Director of the Macao Orchestra and has led major orchestras worldwide, including the Royal Concertgebouw and Chicago Symphony. Lü Jia was previously the Music Director of Verona Opera and has conducted at La Scala and Deutsche Oper Berlin. He received the President’s Prize from Italian President Giorgio Napolitano in 2007.
