Composer Valentina Scheldhofen Ciardelli joins Only Stage Management
Valentina Scheldhofen Ciardelli is Italian-German double bassist and composer focused on expanding the double bass repertoire, blending classical, contemporary, and jazz influences. She has received commissions from prestigious institutions such as the Agnelli Foundation and Italian Cultural Institutes in Washington DC, Hannover, and Stuttgart. Valentina’s work includes virtuosic new compositions and transcriptions of Frank Zappa’s music, aiming to push the boundaries of the double bass as a solo instrument. She also collaborates with contemporary composers who write pieces specifically for her, showcasing her versatility and innovation as a composer.
