Tenor Alok Kumar joins Only Stage management’s roster!
Alok Kumar, an accomplished Indian-American tenor, has collaborated with renowned conductors such as Marek Janowski and Susanna Mälkki, and has performed under the batons of Franz Welser-Möst and Rafael Payare. His career features significant debuts, including creating the role of Chyavana at the Royal Opera House in Ravi Shankar's opera Sukanya, and appearances at the Los Angeles Opera and Houston Grand Opera. Kumar's role development was significantly shaped by his engagements with the Metropolitan Opera, where he debuted in Puccini's La Fanciulla del West.
Kumar's repertoire spans major operatic roles, including performances as Don José in Carmen, the Duke of Mantua in Rigoletto, and as Macduff in Verdi's Macbeth. He has also excelled in concert performances, singing with orchestras across the U.S. and internationally, and showcasing his versatility in various recitals and gala concerts.
